Best CPU Guide

My goal is for this to help you decide what CPU to get for your next gaming rig. I  understand how confusing selecting parts for a new PC can be, so I made this list of what I believe to be the best-value CPUs for specific budgets, from the lowest to the highest. I hope this helps!

See our recommended PC Builds

CPU List | Last updated 12/27/23

Low End/Midrange

AMD Ryzen 5 5600G

6c/12t @ 4.4GHz

This CPU's advantage is it's decent integrated graphics, which allows you to get this CPU and save for a GPU while you game in the Vega 7 iGPU. The only problem is that this CPU only supports PCIe 3.0, and buying it for a new system isn't very practical because AM4 is a dead platform.

Intel Core i5-13400F

10c/16t @ 4.6GHz

This is a great budget gaming CPU. It will go nicely with a RX 6600 XT or equivalent.

AMD Ryzen 5 7600

6c/12t @ 5.1GHz

This is a great midrange gaming CPU, and has the added benefit of being on AM5, which should have support until at least 2025.

High End

AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D

8c/16t @ 5.0GHz

The fastest gaming CPU on the planet.

Intel Core i9-13900K

24c/32t @ 5.8GHz

One of the fastest productivity CPUs ever, with very good single core performance, and better multi-core performance. It only loses in gaming to X3D CPUs, which is extremely impressive, and makes this CPU one of the best value high-end CPUs money can buy.

AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D

16c/32t @ 5.7GHz

The best X3D CPU (well, sort of), having 8 3D-V cores for gaming and 8 non-3D-V cores for productivity. Not the fastest for productivity, but still pretty fast, and better than any other X3D CPUs for productivity.
